Grounded is a 2022 survival sandbox game developed by Obsidian Entertainment where teenagers are shrunk to the size of an ant and stranded in a suburban backyard. Grass blades become skyscrapers, dew drops are water sources, and wolf spiders are apex predators. The full story, all biomes, and boss encounters are available in the 1.0 release, playable solo or in up to four-player co-op across Xbox, PC, and PlayStation.
Wolf spider AI tracks players through pheromone pathfinding with a 3-frame aggro delay behind dense cover — sprinting into a grass cluster and crouching immediately can drop pursuit. The Perfect Parry is the game’s highest-impact combat skill: tapping block during an enemy’s attack startup frame stuns them for a full counter window. The Broodmother boss is the hardest encounter and requires arriving with maximum healing smoothies and elemental weapon coatings.
