Responsible Gaming
Every casino game on Arcade Spot is free, played with play-money credits, and pays out nothing. There is no way to deposit money here and no way to withdraw it. We still publish this page, because “you can’t lose money” is not the same as “there’s nothing to think about” — and because some of the people reading this are parents, and some are people for whom free casino games have stopped feeling like games.
What our casino games are
| Cost to play | Free. There is nothing to buy on Arcade Spot — no deposits, no wallets, no coin packages, no premium currency. |
|---|---|
| What you win | Play-money credits with no cash value. They cannot be withdrawn, transferred, redeemed or exchanged for anything, here or anywhere else. |
| What we are | A free games website. Arcade Spot is not a casino, holds no gambling licence, and accepts no wagers. |
| Who we link to | No one. We do not link to, advertise or take affiliate commission from casinos, sportsbooks, betting sites, sweepstakes casinos or crypto casinos. |
| Age | Our casino and slots category is intended for players aged 18 and over. |
Why a free game still deserves care
Casino games are engineered to be compelling. Near-misses, streaks, escalating stakes, the sound design on a spin — those mechanics work on the brain whether the chips are real or not. Removing the money removes the financial harm. It does not remove the pull.
Two things follow from that, and we would rather say them plainly than bury them.
Free casino play can take up more of your life than you intended. Hours disappear, sleep gets shorter, other things get dropped. No money is lost, but time is, and for some people that becomes a problem in its own right.
For young people, simulated gambling is not neutral. Research consistently links playing social or simulated casino games in adolescence with a higher likelihood of gambling with real money later on. It is an association rather than a proven cause, and most young people who play these games never gamble for money. But it is a well-documented enough pattern that we label the category 18+ and keep it out of our family-facing collections — and that parents should know about it before deciding what’s fine in their house.
Signs it has stopped being a game
Worth an honest read, whether about yourself or someone else. Any of these is worth paying attention to:
- Playing considerably longer than you meant to, most times you sit down
- Thinking about the game when you’re not playing — planning the next session
- Feeling restless, irritable or low when you can’t play
- Playing to escape stress, boredom, anxiety or low mood rather than for enjoyment
- Chasing a losing run to get back to where you were, even with play money
- Losing sleep, missing meals, or skipping work, study or plans to keep playing
- Hiding how much you play, or being defensive when someone mentions it
- Looking for real-money versions of the games you play here
That last one matters most. If free casino games have started to feel unsatisfying and you find yourself looking for somewhere you can bet for real, please treat that as the signal it is and talk to one of the services below — before the money is involved, not after.
Staying in control
- Decide the finish before you start. A set number of rounds or a set number of minutes, chosen before the first spin, not during it.
- Use a timer that isn’t in the game. A phone alarm across the room works better than good intentions.
- Don’t play to fix a mood. If you’re opening the site because you’re stressed, angry or can’t sleep, that’s the session most likely to run long.
- Break up long sessions. Stand up, look at something further than an arm’s length away, drink some water.
- Keep other things in the week. If gaming is displacing people, exercise or sleep, that’s the thing to adjust — not the game.
- Play the rest of the catalog. We publish thousands of games that aren’t casino games. Genuinely — go play a platformer.
For parents and carers
Arcade Spot is used by a lot of young people, and most of what we publish is made for them. Our casino category is not. Here is how to handle it:
- Talk about how these games work. The single most useful thing you can do is explain that slot and roulette games are built so the house wins over time, and that a game showing wins is not evidence that gambling pays. Children who understand the maths are markedly less impressed by it.
- Use browser or OS-level controls. Screen time and content controls on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Chrome can restrict specific sites or set daily time limits. These are more reliable than any setting we could offer, because they work across every site your child visits, not just ours.
- Block the category if you want to. Our casino games live under a distinct URL path, so most parental control tools can block them while leaving the rest of the site available.
- Watch for the pattern, not the game. A child playing roulette for twenty minutes is less concerning than one who becomes secretive or agitated about any game. Behaviour tells you more than the title does.
- Play alongside them occasionally. It tells you more than any monitoring tool, and it’s better company.
What we can’t do
We would rather be straight with you about the limits. Arcade Spot has no accounts and no logins, which is good for your privacy but means we cannot offer self-exclusion, deposit limits or session caps tied to a profile — there is no profile to tie them to.
If you want to stop yourself visiting, the tools that will actually work are outside our site: a website blocker such as Cold Turkey, Freedom or LeechBlock, your browser’s built-in site blocking, or your device’s screen-time controls. Gamban and similar gambling-blocking software also cover social casino sites. We would rather tell you that than pretend a checkbox on our site would hold.
