Streets of Rage

Clean up the crime-ridden city streets with your fists in this classic beat ’em up for the SEGA Master System – Streets of Rage! Choose your fighter, take on the gangs of the evil Mr. X, and fight your way through all eight rounds!

Streets of Rage is a side-scrolling beat ’em up video game developed and published by SEGA and released for the SEGA Master System in 1993. This 8-bit version of the famous Mega Drive / Genesis classic lets you play as one of three former police officers: Adam Hunter, Axel Stone, and Blaze Fielding. Each character has a different balance of power, jumping ability, and speed, so pick the one that suits your play style. Your goal is to walk through each round, defeat every thug that crosses your path, and beat the boss waiting at the end.

Use punches, kicks, throws, and slams to take down your enemies, and pick up weapons like knives, bats, and bottles to deal extra damage. Food found along the way restores your health. When things get tough, call in police backup for a powerful special attack that hits the enemies on the screen. The Master System version even has its own exclusive boss in Round 6 – a villain in a cape and top hat who fires missiles at you!

Tip: don’t let the thugs surround you. Keep moving, use throws to clear some space, and save your police special attack for big crowds and bosses. The game is for one player only, so it’s up to you to save the city. Good luck and have fun!
