Created by username Hellofangaming, the game uses the GameMaker studio engine to provide players with a smooth and versatile gaming experience. Although it has a similar game concept as Super Mario Maker,  the Mario Editor game, as the name implies, not only allows players to play a huge selection of Mario levels but also permits them to edit the levels or create their very own level from scratch. Players are allowed to utilize a huge selection of powerups, enemies, items, and other elements to create their very own unique level that they can share with their friends and the rest of the world. The game also allows players to use pre-made levels and even original levels from other Mario titles, and edit them to their heart's content. 

Other players also share their custom levels and shared levels can be downloaded and played using the same application.
