What are Physics Games?
Physics Games is a video game category that utilizes a physics engine to create a simulated game environment. Players are usually asked to do realistic (sometimes heavily exaggerated) actions to achieve a specific goal or meet various objectives. Games in this group fall under different genres, including Puzzles, Arcades, Distance, Running, Simulations, or even Strategy. Physics-based distance / running games usually include the use of ragdolls where the players will have to slide, bounce, tumble, or roll their way to the objective.

History of Video-Game Physics
Physics games began in 1958, even before Atari's PONG was invented. Although Pong was one of the earliest examples of dynamic physics calculations, Tennis for Two was first introduced on October 18, 1958, at one of the Lab's annual visitors' days. Two people played the electronic tennis game with separate controllers connected to an analog computer and used an oscilloscope for a screen, which was a breakthrough at that time.
Must-Try Physics Games
Physics in games usually toe the line in realism to things that do not make any sense. Some Physics-based Puzzles let you move from one level to the other by solving and reaching your target with limited resources. 2 Volt and Rob break are two fun games with similar game mechanics but two unique game concepts. Both games will put you in head-first to where you need to be! Move to each level with finite supplies and achieve your objective. Collect and keep yourself running to avoid starting over. Adding a game physics will up the ante on your “regular” games. Eggcelerate is a good example illustration of how physics works in games. Do not drive too fast, or you will break the eggs, drive slowly, and start over—that type of realism you can expect from these sets of games.
Ragdoll-Based Arcade Games
Some games exaggerate physics behavior to bend reality. These games are a fantastic source of pure fun and senseless hours of enjoyment. Actions that would normally put an end to your character take a backseat with these games. Ragdoll is a term used for avatars with infinite lives that you can throw, beat, or even burn. Short Life 2, is a ragdoll-based game that gives you complete control over a ragdoll. In this game, you can swing stakes or drop blocks to your fancy. Drunken Duel 2 shows you what alcohol can do! This action game lets you shoot down your enemies while being excessively drunk. Be quick on the trigger so you won’t bounce around like a bunny on Easter Sunday.
These are just a few of the games that can be hyper-realistic and fantastical at the same time. Things that cannot be safe when done in real life. So enough talk. Pick up your controllers, ready your keyboards, and let’s move objects in the most fun way imaginable.
