Game Information

atari centipede game

Bring back the classic with Atari Centipede! This fixed shooter arcade game will have you fighting off pixelated centipedes, spiders, and scorpions, among many other critters.

Originally released back in 1981 in 8-Bit arcade machines, the original Atari's Centipede was one of the most commercially successful games at the time considered the Golden Age of arcade gaming. Just like the original, your goal in Atari Centipede is to shoot down the centipede that winds down the playing field. Shooting the centipede in the middle will break it into segments - giving you more targets to shoot. The centipede has ten to twelve body parts, and each part will become a mushroom when shot - while the rest of the body will continue to head down to where the player is. In order to successfully eliminate the target, you must shoot the centipede's head. The game also features other creatures such as spiders, scorpions, and fleas that will harm the player. The player must shoot down all critters with bugblaster and survive for as long as possible. Extra life will be given for every 12,000 points the player earns. Will you be able to create a high score big enough to beat the world record?
