A line will guide your shot so you can aim better, but the line only extends a little from the bottom of the screen. Grab the extra balls floating on the screen by hitting them with your ball. These extra balls will be crucial in clearing blocks with a higher number count. 

Plan your moves and make sure that each shot will hit several blocks and repeatedly if possible. The number in the blocks indicate the times you need to hit them to clear them out of the screen.
