Physics Box 2 follows the same gameplay as the first game. In this game, the player's goal is to move the cube to an area marked with a flag.  The player must control the cube by using nothing but the momentum and reaction of force. By using the left mouse button, the cube will shoot out a bullet that explodes upon impact. The cube can only be moved with the impact from the explosion and will remain unaffected by almost anything else. 

The game features a total of 45 levels. Most levels are riddled with tricky areas, moving platforms, and uneven terrain, while on some levels there will be harmful obstacles like lasers and spikes that can immediately destroy the cube. The game is quite challenging as controlling and moving the cube in itself is a rather tricky thing to do. However, once the player gets the hang of it, the game will experience a different kind of challenge in the form of the various obstacles that the cube must go over to reach the designated area.
